The DG Global Children’s Peace Council (GCPC) eTwinning project successfully carried out its December activity entitled “Solution Box Workshop.” Conducted under the theme “I Know My Rights and I Create Solutions Against Bullying,” the activity actively engaged students in raising awareness about peer bullying and developing solutions based on children’s rights.
The activity lasted one class period (40 minutes) and was implemented using group work, discussion, creative presentation, and online–interactive learning methods. Digital activities prepared via WordWall were applied interactively in the classroom, allowing students to come to the board, answer questions, and share their ideas.
In the introduction phase, the teacher briefly reviewed the types of bullying (physical, verbal, social/exclusion, and cyberbullying) as well as basic children’s rights. Students were then informed that they would participate in a workshop focused on producing solutions to bullying situations.
During the development phase, each student was given a worksheet containing various bullying scenarios. Students individually examined the scenarios and responded in writing to the following questions:
-
What type of bullying is present in this scenario?
-
Which right of the victim may have been violated?
-
What can be done to solve this situation?
Throughout this process, students demonstrated their ability to analyze bullying situations, accurately identify rights violations, and think in a solution-oriented manner. The written activities also supported their self-expression and ability to structure their thoughts clearly.
In the conclusion phase of the activity, a mini poster titled “Every Child Has Rights!” was created collaboratively as a class. The poster included fundamental children’s rights such as the right to respect, the right to safety, the right to education, the right not to be discriminated against, and the right to express oneself. The completed poster was displayed on the classroom board and examined together with the students.
The “Solution Box Workshop” provided an effective learning experience in which students recognized different types of bullying, understood children’s rights through concrete examples, and developed peaceful solutions to real-life problems. The activity was successfully completed as a meaningful December contribution supporting the GCPC project motto: “No to Bullying, Yes to Friendship.”
